Burn Baby Burn

In several billion years the Sun will engulf the Earth, burning it to nothing. Should we start planning our escape route now? Dr. Gary Grape and Dr. Adam Apple, both with a PHD in the Philosophy of Science, speak on the issue.
The time to act is now! says Dr. Grape Future generations should be given a fair go, and I think we have the intelligence to understand that. He says that the sooner we have an evacuation plan, the better off well be, before too long well be living for thousands or even millions of years, so this might not be so many generations away at all.
But Dr. Apple says that Grape is truly mad. Most probably we will be an entirely different species; higher order animals are less resistant to severe changes that some insects and micro-organisms easily
adapt to. Now is not the time to be thinking about how to avoid being charred.
Rather then transporting us to another planet, Grape says that we should move
the entire Earth to another solar system. There will be a mass project to
cryonicly freeze all life on Earth and embark on a several thousand year journey to another solar system. Nuclear energy would be used to trust the Earth out of orbit. Computers of
tomorrow would be able to calculate the exact amount of thrust needed when and where. We would also have to decide on a
suitable solar system to move to.
Apple says that Grape is a complete time waster, and doesnt deserve a PHD, but isnt it the thought that counts? Even if we are worried he states that there is almost am infinite amount of time left. We really should be focusing our effort on the
environment and keeping robots under control. Grape says that we should most definitely be placing effort in those areas, the people of previous generations didnt think of us when scientists knew the damage society was doing to the
environment. Grape says we must think of future generations.
Is this just a complete waste of time, well, all us here at TrickyTank.com thought he was. Hopefully next time Grape will have a bit more of a grip on himself.
